Catching Ghosts and Pumpkins

Overview

Objective – To collect as many ghosts and pumpkins as possible in the allocated time period.

Learning Outcomes

Throwing and Catching.

Set Up

1. Set up the playing area by creating a square/rectangle in the middle.

2. Place as many pumpkins (small balls), and ghosts (scarfs) around the square/rectangle.

3. Split students into pairs or threes.

4. Spread students around the outside of the square/rectangle.

Instructions

1. On go, the first student in each pair/three runs into the square/rectangle, and finds one pumpkin, or ghost.

2. They pick it up and throw the object in the air 5 times (should go above the head each throw). Once they complete the 5th catch, they run it back to their group.

3. The next student goes and repeats the task.

4. Continue until all pumpkins/ghosts have been collected.

Key Rules
