2. The team called will run from the centerline to their outside line. The team that was not called will aim to chase them and tag them before reaching the outside line.
3. If the runner makes it to the line they receive a point. If the tagger tags them before the outside line, they receive a point.
4. Students return to the middle line and the teacher calls out either Spiders or Bats. again.
5. This continues for an allocated time period or a certain score is reached.
Key Rules
The animal called will run from the centre line to their outside line.
The animal that was not called will aim to chase them and tag them before reaching the outside line.
Safety Considerations
Ensure there is enough runoff space after the outside lines to avoid running in a wall.
Ensure a warm-up is provided prior to the activity.
Ensure the playing area is safe from hazards.
Modifications
Modify how the students start (e.g. stand, lay down, balance on one leg, on all fours)
Instead of one hand tag, players have to tag with two hands at the same time.
